“Hey Mom, where’s Timbuktu?” is KOVLO’s best record so far. It’s a summa of their sound, and a personal and original synthesis of many post-rock and instrumental rock sounds of music history. It moves between romance and anger, hope and despair, creating a melancholic and anxious soundtrack for the contemporary world crisis.

Every song is a particular musical movement. The six movements become the stages of a unique journey that gives the chance to explore the inner and the outer world through music. The title evokes the scene of a child who, by looking at a globe or by reading an atlas, remains fascinated and afraid of some places (the titles of the tracks) drawn on the world map: Hebron (Palestine), Oaxaca (Mexico), Rovaniemi (Finland), Qujing (China), Blenheim (Australia) Angkor Wat (Cambodia).

Music, like the fantasy of a child, opens a landscape of dreams and nightmares that lives at the end of the world and in the depth of our consciousness.
